William James Spears
April 27, 1959 – December 29, 2016

William James Spears, 57 of rural Glenwood, Missouri passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at his home.

The son of William Henry and Lorraine Hazel (Eakins) Spears, he was born on April 27, 1959 in Bloomfield, Iowa. He was a 1977 graduate of the Schuyler R-I High School in Lancaster, Missouri.

Survivors include his mother, Lorraine Stevens of Lancaster, Missouri; Lori Spears of Glenwood, Missouri; children, Loutrisha Dawn Fernandez of Novinger, Missouri; Jesse Spears of Mount Calm, Texas and Jason Spears of Kirksville, Missouri; two stepchildren, Paul Alan of Kirksville, Missouri and James Groseclose of Sanger, Texas; eight grandchildren; one sister, Cyndy Ellis of Knoxville, Iowa; several cousins including a special cousin, Patricia Chidester of Harlingen, Texas; other family members and many good friends who knew Bill as "Wrencher".

Bill is preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, William Henry Spears on October 20, 1990 and his son, William Casey Spears on September 4, 2007.

Bill was a friend to many, working on their machinery and lending a helping hand wherever and whenever needed.

A celebration of life service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the family. Burial will be at a later date as the body has been cremated.
