William "Bill" James Lewis

William "Bill" James Lewis, 87 of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Glenwood, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.
The son of Elmer Earl and Letha Eileen (Phillips) Lewis, he was born on March 14, 1938 in Cincinnati, Iowa. He was a graduate of Cincinnati High School in Cincinnati, Iowa. On December 7, 1957 in Marshalltown, Iowa, he was united in marriage to Zeldia Irene Matney and to this union two children were born, Deborah and William "Rob".
"Bill" is survived by his children, Deborah McCubbin and husband, Camron of Liscomb, Iowa and William "Rob" Lewis and wife, Goldie Jean of Glenwood, Missouri; five grandchildren, April Muschick and husband, Brandon of Liscomb, Iowa, Michael Vibbard and wife, Loretta of Liscomb, Iowa, Tiffany Lewis of Greentop, Missouri, William Lewis of Glenwood, Missouri and Stewart Hughes of Conrad, Iowa; 6 great grandchildren, Lucas Vibbard of Liscomb, Iowa, Mallory Vibbard of Liscomb, Iowa, Jayden Muschick of Liscomb, Iowa, Addison Muschick of Liscomb, Iowa, Jack Hughes of Conrad, Iowa and Olivia Hughes of Conrad, Iowa; three sisters Ila Taft and husband Charles of Van Meter, Iowa, Carolyn Stansberry of Garwin, Iowa and Jessie White of Melbourne, Iowa; other family members and many good friends.
"Bill" is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Zeldia Irene (Matney) Lewis on January 26, 2019; one granddaughter, Sherry Hughes and three sisters, Linda Lewis, Marilyn Esmeyer and Betty Lou Stevenson.
Bill worked at Marshalltown Foundry in Marshalltown, Iowa before moving to Glenwood, Missouri in 1978. He also worked at the Bloomfield Foundry in Bloomfield, Iowa. Bill was a rancher for many years and also put up hay. He was a member of the Iowa Coon Hunters Association. Bill loved trapping and caught the first bobcat in Schuyler County.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Bob Baker, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music will be special selections of "Peace In The Valley" and "The OId Rugged Cross." Visitation will be held between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, north of Glenwood, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
