October 1, 1919 – March 27, 2014
Waunita Cecile Buchanan, 94 of Downing, Missouri passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri where she had been a resident for approximately a year.
The daughter of Thomas Edward and Zatha (Bradshaw) Swaney, she was born on October 1, 1919 in Ottumwa, Iowa. On July 31, 1937 in Memphis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Floyd Lee Buchanan and to this union three children were born, Robert, Phyllis Lea and Patricia.
Survivors include her children, Robert Buchanan and wife, Lynn of Pacifica, Missouri, Phyllis Wilson of Kirkville, Iowa and Patricia Fincher and husband, Donald of Downing, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren and other family members.
Waunita is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister, Helen Selix.
