Vernon Dale Cook, 86 of Marietta, Georgia passed away on Friday, January 10, 2013.
The son of Okla and Nellie (Dawson) Cook, he was born on March 14, 1927 in Downing, Missouri. He was a graduate of the Downing High School in Downing, Missouri. On March 14, 1952 in Downing, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Marian West and to this union 4 children were born, Gordon, Gregory Allan, Randy and Patricia.
His son, Gordon Cook of Marietta, Georgia and one grandson, Alexander Gregory Cook of Gadsden, Alabama survive Vernon.
Vernon is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marian and 3 children, Gregory Allan Cook, Randy and Patricia Cook both in infancy.
Vernon was a member of the Baptist Church in Downing, Missouri.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Downing Cemetery in Downing, Missouri with Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the graveside services at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for American Heart Association. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster and Downing, Missouri.
