Velma Ilene (Judd) Wilson

February 20, 1921 – April 9, 2019

Velma IIene (Judd) Wilson, 98 of Phoenix, Arizona passed away April 9, 2019 in Phoenix, Arizona.

The daughter of James Clement and Edna Elma (Veatch) Judd, she was born on February 20, 1921 in Coatsville, Missouri.  On November 20, 1940 in Coatsville, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Woodrow Jack Wilson and to this union one daughter, Jackee, was born.

Velma is survived by her daughter, Jackee Frantz and husband, George of Phoenix, Arizona; two grandchildren, Mike Frantz of Phoenix, Arizona and Mindy Haner and husband, James of Phoenix, Arizona; three great grandchildren, Cameron Frantz of Phoenix, Arizona and Mackanzie and Nathan Haner of Phoenix, Arizona; two brothers, Ed Judd and wife, Debra of Phoenix, Arizona and Ronald Judd and wife, Wilma of Lancaster, Missouri; several nieces and nephews and other family members.

Velma is preceded in death by her parents, her father, James Clement Judd passed away on July 4, 1968 and her mother, Edna Elma (Veatch) Judd passed away on December 29, 1987; her husband, Jack Wilson on January 2, 1986; one sister, Earleen Leuddeke and her husband John and one brother, Earl Judd and his wife, Betty.

While living in Phoenix, she volunteered with the Goodwill Women's Auxiliary for many years as well as a large bridge club.

In 1981, she and Jack moved to Carefree, Arizona where Jackee and family had moved.  She volunteered at the Cave Creek Library for many years.

Velma's loving and fun nature touched everyone she met.  She will be missed by so many.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating.  Music will be special CD selections of "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing Grace".  Pallbearers will be George Frantz, James Haner, Nathan Haner, Wyatt Davis, Kevin Judd and Jesse Wolf.  Visitation will be held before the funeral services from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.  Memorials have been established for Disabled American Veterans.  Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
