Obituary

Timothy Noel Tucker, age 70, of Greentop, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 16, 2026.

Born in Bloomfield, Iowa on March 5 1956. Tim attended Scotland County Schools and graduated from Schuyler County R-1 in 1974. He moved to Lancaster, Missouri at age 13, after his father purchased a farm implement business.

He is survived by his two sisters, Barbara (Larry) Hudlemeyer of Liberty, Missouri, and Alice (Mark) Banks of Columbia, Missouri; and his five children: Tim Tucker Jr. (Aimee) of Greentop, Missouri, Travis Tucker (Anna Landores) of Osceola, Iowa, Tracy Mathews (Adrian) of Kirksville, Missouri, Tyler Tucker of Kirksville, Missouri, and Madison Schneid (Thomas) of North Ridgeville, Ohio; six grandchildren, Lillian Tucker, Cora, Gemma and Elias Mathews, Emery Tucker, and Murphy Schneid; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Roy (Owen) Tucker and Minnie Tucker; his three brothers, George Tucker, Loren Tucker and James Tucker.

During high school, Tim was a standout on the basketball court. He was a talented starter and rebounder. His basketball career continued at Hannibal-LaGrange University, in Hannibal, Missouri.

Tim proudly served in the Air Force from 1982 to 1995. He began his military career as an airlift aircraft maintenance technician, spending his first two years working on C-9 aircraft. He later transitioned to tactical aircraft maintenance, specializing in fighter aircraft such as the F-4 Phantom, F-15 Strike Eagle, and F-16 Fighting Falcon. His 13 years of military service took him around the world, with assignments at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in Goldsboro, North Carolina; Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia, Bitburg Air Base in Bitburg, Germany; Luke Air Force Base in Glendale, Arizona; Osan Air Base in South Korea; and Scott Air Force Base in Belleville, Illinois. Tim left the Air Force as an E-6 Tech Sergeant in 1995.

Throughout the military years, Tim also pursued his love of music. A talented bass guitarist, he played with various local bands wherever he was stationed, from Georgia to Germany and even South Korea.

Following his military service, Tim attended truck driving school in Illinois. He began driving for J.B. Hunt in 1999, where he remained a driver for more than 27 years.

Tim took great pride in his profession. In 2023, he reached the remarkable milestone of two million safe driving miles, an achievement celebrated at J.B. Hunt's Million-Mile Celebration.

Tim had many interests, was Incredibly intelligent and a voracious reader, avid coin collector, keeping up with current events and never out of touch with the latest news. He was a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan who attended countless baseball games. He had a passion for collecting rare coins, enjoyed a good cigar, and could often be found browsing a coin shop.

Tim was hardworking, humorous, and one of a kind. He spent his life working hard, serving his country, transporting America’s goods, and in a constant pursuit of knowledge. He always found humor in any situation. He leaves behind a lifetime of stories and knowledge and if you wanted a fun fact, Tim was the person to ask. Tim leaves behind a family who will carry his memory forward.
