Terri Lynn (Spees) Spears

Terri Lynn Spears, 59, of Downing, Missouri passed away at the University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

The daughter of Verne Edward and Wilhelminia June (Phillips) Spees, Terri was born on December 19, 1964 in Rock Island, Illinois. She attended school in Schuyler County. Terri was united in marriage to Bobby Groseclose in the early 80's and they were blessed with three children, Torri, James and Natasha. She was later united in marriage to William James Spears on September 3, 1988 and they were blessed with a son, Jason.

Terri is survived by her children, Torri Robb and husband, William of Brookfield, Missouri, James Groseclose of Kirksville, Missouri, Natasha West and husband, Brian of Coatsville, Missouri and Jason Spears and wife Amber of Centerville, Iowa; one step daughter, Trisha Fernandez and husband, Israel of Kirksville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Sara, Lilly and Brody West of Coatsville, Missouri; one brother, John Spees and wife, Darr of Nevada, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, other family members and many good friends including Shirley and John Hidy of Batavia, Iowa and their children, Jonathan and Chas.

Terri is preceded in death by her parents, Verne Edward Spees on May 11, 1987 and Wilhelminia June (Phillips) Spees on August 17, 2021; one son, William Casey Spears on September 4, 2007 and one grandchild, Willow West on October 12, 2022.

Terri worked at her father's gas station and feed store in Downing, Missouri. She had a kind and caring soul and everyone will remember her beautiful smile. Terri loved being with family and friends, loved cooking and baking and being out on the family farm with her animals as a child. Later in life, her favorite animals were Bailey, Gracy and Edie. She loved watching Mash, I Love Lucy and Yellowstone. She was a collector of unicorns and sugar skulls.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date as the body has been cremated. Memorials in honor of Terri can be mailed to the Norman Funeral Home at 402 West Washington, Lancaster, Missouri 63548.
