Ted Alvin Johnson

Ted Alvin Johnson, 90 of rural Queen City, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Sunday, January 25, 2015.
The son of Ernest Manford and Vesta Mandana (Reynolds) Johnson, he was born on March 30, 1924. Ted was a graduate of the Queen City High School in Queen City, Missouri. On August 17, 1946, Ted was united in marriage to Geneva Collier and lived in rural Queen City, Missouri where they were engaged in farming. To this union, 5 boys were born, Evan, Melvin, Alvin, Kevin and Nevin. Geneva passed away on November 1, 1989. On February 23, 1990 in Kirksville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Fern Louise (Evans) Steen.
Survivors include his wife, Fern Johnson of Queen City, Missouri; 3 sons, Evan Johnson and wife, Janet of Glenwood, Missouri, Alvin Johnson and wife, Becky Johnson of Kirksville, Missouri; Kevin Johnson and wife, Tammy of Queen City, Missouri; 1 daughter-in-law, Jeannette Johnson of Seward, Nebraska; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and other family members.
Ted is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geneva (Collier) Johnson; 2 sons, Nevin Lee Johnson and Melvin Guy Johnson; 1 sister, Helen Steele; step children, Ellis Keith Steen, Betty (Steen) Hartsock and Jackie Steen;
Ted was a member of the New Hope Evangelical Church in Kirksville, Missouri. He enjoyed his family, hunting, spending time with his dogs and living on the farm.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Darrell Draper assisted by James Maxey officiating. Pianist, Tammy Johnson and singers, Rachel Johnson and Meghan Goade, will provide special musical selections of "Farther Along", "Mansion Over the Hilltop" and "How Great Thou Art". Active pallbearers will be Mark Macomber, Darrin Treadway, Mark Crawford, Chuck Pratte, Jerome Floyd, and John Brownell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Johnson, Travis Johnson, Jared Johnson, Matthew Johnson and Caleb Johnson. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services between the hours of 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
