Shirley Ann (Garr) Gregory

August 21, 1947 – February 6, 2019

Shirley Ann (Garr) Gregory, 71 of Malvern, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska.

The daughter of Virgil James and Esther Rae (Smyser) Garr, she was born on August 21, 1947 in Livonia, Missouri.  After her high school graduation, she started her family with Robert Harding and to this union three children were born, Rod, Robert and Lorie.

Shirley is survived by her mother, Esther Cypert and husband, Al of Melrose, Iowa; three children, Rod Harding of Knoxville, Iowa, Robert Harding and wife, Stacy of Swan, Iowa and Lorie Teut and husband, Oran of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; four grandchildren, Caitlin Dohlman and husband, Kory of Waverly, Iowa, Dalton Scharper of Runnells, Iowa, Taylor Harding of Knoxville, Iowa and Christopher Jones of Swan, Iowa; one great granddaughter, Kynsli Dohlman of Waverly, Iowa; one brother, Quinten (Bud) Garr and wife, Cathy of Eddyville, Iowa; one sister, Jamie Carter of Glenwood, Missouri; Shirley's companion, James Bowen of Malvern, Iowa and their beloved dogs, Pringles and Peaches; aunts and uncles; nieces and nephews; other family members and many good friends.

Shirley is preceded in death by her father, Virgil James Garr; her husband, Eugene C. Gregory; one brother-in-law, Stanley Carter and other family members.

Shirley loved her grandchildren, quilting, the mountains, cooking and baking.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating.  Music will be special CD selections of "A Mother's Love" and "Amazing Grace".  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services from noon until 1:00 p.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Shirley's family which will be distributed to a charity that touched her heart.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.  Burial will be at a later date.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
