August 15, 1952 - August 26, 2017

Sharon (Sherry) Sue (Wenneker) Slavin, 65 passed away Saturday, August 26, 2017 of natural causes at her home in Kirksville, Missouri.
The daughter of Merle Glenn and Marilyn Louise (Keller) Wenneker, she was born on August 15, 1952 in Quincy, Illinois.
Sherry graduated from the Schuyler County High School with the class of 1970 in Lancaster, Missouri and from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri with a BSE in Art.
On July 2, 1977 in Lancaster, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Timothy John Slavin at the Lancaster Christian Church.
Survivors include her husband, Tim Slavin of Kirksville, Missouri; one sister, Lynda Daniels and husband, Alan of Kirksville, Missouri; four nephews, Michael Daniels of Harrisonville, Missouri, Bryan Daniels and wife, Tracy of Bolivar, Missouri, Mike Slavin from out of the area and Matt Slavin and wife, Kathleen of Aroma Park, Illinois; two nieces, Wendy Besler and husband, Michael of Kirksville, Missouri and Kirstin Davis and husband, Lance of Clearwater, Florida; three great nephews, Wyatt and Eyan Yost of Kirksville, Missouri and Devin Daniels of Bolivar, Missouri and one great niece, DeLaney Daniels of Bolivar, Missouri; other family members and many good friends.
Preceding Sherry in death were her parents, Merle and Marilyn Wenneker and Tim's parents, Forrest W. and Mary Mildred Slavin; one brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Barbara Slavin and one nephew, Marc Slavin.
Sherry was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri.
Sherry loved making all kinds of crafts. She also loved to paint and draw. She was accomplished at both. She often made craft items, pictures and floral arrangements for the residents at Twin Pines Adult Care Facility. She spent many hours volunteering and talking with the residents and helping out anyway she could.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2017 between the hours of 7-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the Adair County Humane Society or the Diabetes Society. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
