Ruby (Aldridge) Chance
March 13, 1924 – August 17, 2013

Ruby Chance, 89 of Memphis, Missouri passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2013 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri where she had been a resident since February 2012.

The daughter of Abner and Nettie (Blaine) Aldridge, she was born on March 13, 1924 in Queen City, Missouri. She was united in marriage to John Burl Chance.

Ruby was a homemaker and was also a very faithful member of the Christian Church in Memphis, Missouri as long as her health permitted. She was a long time resident of Scotland County, Missouri.

Survivors include nieces and nephews including, Gary Aldridge and wife, Cindy of Memphis, Missouri; stepson, Keith Chance and wife, Angel of Memphis, Missouri; step grandchildren, Steven Chance and wife, Angie of Cantril, Iowa, Barb Chance of Memphis, Missouri, James Chance of Texas, Wanetta Chance of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Vicky Cummiskey of Pennsylvania, Cindy Green and husband, Rick of Pennsylvania and Dennis Patton and wife, Cindy of Illinois; several step great grandchildren, other family members and many good friends.

Ruby is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Burl Chance in 1973; brothers, Jessie, Orville, Junior and Perley Aldridge; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ivan (Mae) Starbuck and Lula Rude; 1 step grandson, Robert Chance.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri with Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church officiating. Memorials have been established for Scotland County Nutrition Site in Memphis, Missouri. Burial will be in the Memphis Cemetery in Memphis, Missouri.
