Royce Magnum Bowens, 29 of Downing, Missouri passed away at his home on Thursday, June 19, 2014.

The son of Albert B. Bowens and Janet I. Swearingen, he was born on August 8, 1984 in Memphis, Missouri. He was a 2003 graduate of the Scotland County High School in Memphis, Missouri. On May 17, 2008, he was united in marriage to Naomi Buford in Downing, Missouri.

Royce is survived by his wife, Naomi Bowens of Downing, Missouri; his mother, Janet Swearingen of Downing, Missouri; 1 brother, Eric Bowens (Rissy) of Downing, Missouri; 2 sisters, Allison Hollenstine (Derek) of Quincy, Illinois and Nicole Annis (Capp) of Cantril, Iowa; father and mother-in-law, Danny and Dawn Buford of Downing, Missouri, 2 sisters-in-law, Megan Buford of Ottumwa, Iowa and Savanna Buford and niece, Bristol of Downing, Missouri; 1 brother-in-law, Takoda Reese of Downing, Missouri; nieces and nephews: Skyler Holton (Jamie) of Memphis, Missouri, Chelsi Holton of Memphis, Missouri, Raleigh Annis of Cantril, Iowa, Landon, Brenna and Kaydennce Bowens of Downing, Missouri and Adilyn Hollenstine of Quincy, Illinois; 1 great niece, Zalynn Holton of Memphis, Missouri; grandparents-in-law, Danny and Nancy Buford of Downing, Missouri and Tommy and Carolyn Anderson of Downing, Missouri; aunts and uncles; cousins; other family members and many good friends.

His father; 1 brother, Raun Bowens and grandparents, Ike and Irene Swearingen precede Royce in death.

Royce was employed with Christenson Farms as a Manager. He was also a member of the Downing Fire Department and an Alderman for the City of Downing.

Royce was a loving and supportive husband to Naomi for 6 years as well as a greatly loved and appreciated son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He enjoyed farming, fishing, being an avid Mizzou Tiger Fan as well as a Kansas City Chief Fan and he enjoyed living his life to the fullest!!

A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at the Memphis Old City Lake in Memphis, Missouri with Carrol Davenport, Pastor of Hospice of Northeast Missouri officiating. Memorials have been established for the family. Burial will be at a later date as per Royce's wishes, his body is to be cremated.
