Roy (Nub) Lake

Roy (Nub) Lake, 70, of Glenwood, Missouri passed away at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri on Wednesday, February 11, 2015.
The son of Darrel and Geneva (May) Lake, he was born on March 4, 1944 in rural Glenwood, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Linda Lee Lasley on August 15, 1966 in Glenwood, Missouri and to this union one son, Jerrod was born.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Lake of Glenwood, Missouri; one son, Jerrod Lake and wife, Kerry of Kirksville, Missouri and one granddaughter, Ashley also of Kirksville, Missouri; one brother, Gene Lake and wife, Margaret of Lancaster, Missouri; one sister, Becky Lake of Brookfield, Missouri; other family members and several good friends.
His parents; one brother, James Lake and one sister, Ruth Peal, precede Roy in death.
Roy enjoyed spending his time working in the garage with his son, Jerrod restoring hot rods and classic cars and was recognized in national publicized magazines over a 25-year period. Roy was a member of Good Guys Association car club, which he enjoyed very much! Roy was a self-employed carpenter and had worked for many families in the Glenwood and surrounding areas.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Lonnie Johnson, Pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Maureen Watkins. Special musical selections will be "How Great Thou Art" and "Old Man Down The Road". Pallbearers will be Herb Treece, Jr., Bill Fugate, Jonathan Dotson, Kendall Neel, Jeff Tallman and Jason Schmitter. Visitation will be held on Saturday February 14, 2015 one hour prior to the funeral services 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the new Glenwood Community Hall in Glenwood, Missouri. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
