Robert (Bob) Lee Duncan
July 15, 1938 – December 27, 2012

Robert (Bob) Lee Duncan, 74 of Downing, Missouri passed away at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri on Thursday, December 27, 2012.

The son of Frank Raymond and Mary Madelene (Cook) Duncan, Bob was born on July 15, 1938 in rural Downing, Missouri. He was a graduate of the Downing High School in Downing, Missouri with the class of 1956. He was united in marriage to Leanna Davison on November 1, 1958 in Ottumwa, Iowa and to this union 3 sons were born, Randy Lee, Steven Ray and Michael Allen.

Bob served his country in the United States Army for 24 ½ years. While Bob was in the service, he received a Bachelor's degree and was just near completing his Master's degree. Because of the Duncan heritage, there has been 3 generations serving in the United States Army as Sergeants. This is something all of the Duncan generations were very proud to claim. Following Bob's honorable discharged from the United States Army, he and his family made their home in Troy, Missouri and later moved to Downing, Missouri. Bob was employed several years for Beeler Motor Company as a car salesman in Lancaster, Missouri.

Bob is survived by his children, Randy Duncan of Bloomfield, Iowa, Steve Duncan of Downing, Missouri and Mike Duncan of Wentzville, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Heather Creech and husband, Justin of Troy, Missouri, Nichole Duncan of Downing, Missouri, Michael Duncan and wife, Kelli of Ft. Riley, Kansas and Eric Duncan of Downing, Missouri; 3 great grandchildren, Kadence and Brooklynn Creech of Troy, Missouri and Emilee Sayre of Downing, Missouri; 2 sisters, Ruth Ann Moots and husband, Francis of Brashear, Missouri and Jean Moots and husband, George of Hurdland, Missouri; 1 brother, Jerry Duncan and wife, Betty of Downing, Missouri; 1 sister-in-law, Seena Duncan of Springfield, Illinois; nieces and nephews; other family members and many good friends.

Preceding Bob in death are his parents, Frank Raymond Duncan on April 11, 2005 and Mary Madelene (Cook) Duncan on June 28, 2004; his wife, Leanna Duncan on March 14, 2006 and one brother, Scott Duncan on July 23, 2012.

Bob and his brother, Scott was baptized on April, 1950 at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri. Bob was also a member of Scotland County VFW Post 4958 in Memphis, Missouri.

Bob treasured the time he was able to spend with his family as he enjoyed those times so much. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother and will certainly be missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri. Music will be special CD selections of "When I Get Where I'm Going" and "Ballad of Mr. Jenkins". Pallbearers will be Roy Morgan, Michael Duncan, Justin Creech, George Mathes, Eric Duncan and Pat Morgan. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 30, 2012 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for Schuyler County Nutrition Site or the Scotland County VFW Post 4958 in Memphis, Missouri. Burial will be in the Downing Cemetery in Downing, Missouri.
