Robert Eugene Forsythe
March 21, 1942 – October 4, 2015

Robert Eugene Forsythe, 73 of Downing, Missouri passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2015 at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri.

The son of Eugene Welsh and Anna Lea (Boggs) Forsythe, he was born on March 21, 1942 southwest of Glenwood, Missouri. He was united in marriage to Debra Lynn Howard on January 9, 1976 in Davenport, Iowa and to this union one son was born, Richard Del Forsythe.

Survivors include his son, Richard Del Forsythe of Downing, Missouri; his father, Eugene Welsh Forsythe and wife, Mary of Lancaster, Missouri; 1 brother, Ronald Clark Forsythe and wife, Gwen (Kitten) of Donahue, Iowa and other family members.

Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Debra Forsythe on February 9, 2008 and his mother.

Robert was employed with the Davenport, Iowa hospital in the laundry department from which he retired. Following his retirement, he moved to Downing, Missouri to be closer to his family. He was a member of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri.

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Jimtown Cemetery with Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri officiating. Pallbearers will be Dennis Anderson, Ronnie Anderson, Rick Fugate, Kendall Gray and Richie Forsythe. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Jimtown Cemetery.
