Richard Leroy Houston
August 16, 1923 – August 21, 2015

Richard Leroy Houston, 92 of Milan, Missouri, formerly of Lancaster, Missouri, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

The adopted son of Noah Floyd and Gladys June (Morehouse) Houston, he was born on August 16, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri.

Survivors include 2 sisters, Lucille Witten and husband, Robert of Trenton, Missouri and Mary Lou Hagglund of Ottumwa, Iowa; nieces and nephews, Sam Houston of Gainesville, Texas, Sue Witten of Kansas City, Missouri, Bill Witten of Kansas City, Missouri, Cynthia Miller of Portland, Oregon, Paula Lauer of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, Kristi Hagglund of Ottumwa, Iowa and Julie Jackson of Florida; other family members and many good friends.

His parents; two brothers, Jim Houston and wife, Betty and Don Houston and wife, Betty Jo and one brother-in-law, Paul Hagglund, precede Richard in death.

Richard was a long time resident of Rolling Hills Home in Milan, Missouri under the excellent care of Glenda Magney.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri with Sam Houston, officiating. A special CD musical selection of "In The Garden" will be performed. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
