Raymond Michael Lefler

Raymond Michael Lefler, 60 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.
The son of Raymond Maxwell Lefler and Pat B. (Badger) Frazier, Mike was born on January 22, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri. Mike served his country in the United States Navy from 1968 to 1971 and was honorably discharged. Following his discharge from the United States Navy, Mike began working as a lineman for Sturgeon and was a member of the International Brothers of Electrical Workers Union for many years. In 2010, Mike and his family returned to Lancaster, Missouri to make their home.
Mike was united in marriage to Janell Luann Taubert on December 18, 1977 in Minnesota.
Survivors include his wife, Janell Lefler of Lancaster, Missouri; children, Jeremy Lefler and wife, Anita of Queen City, Missouri and Christina Lefler of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandchildren, Hixon and Devin Akin of Lancaster, Missouri who made their home with Mike and Janell and Chelsea, Morgan and Kaylee Lefler of Queen City, Missouri; 2 sisters, Susan Elschlager and husband, Steve of Kirksville, Missouri and Jane Lewis and husband, Donald of Kirksville, Missouri; one half sister, Maxine Krostue and husband, Jim of Grand Lake, Colorado; his parents-in-law, Lowell and Evelyn Taubert of Minnesota; sisters-in-law, Debbie Sonnenberg and husband, Phil of Minnesota and Wendy Debban and husband, Al of Minnesota; 1 brother-in-law, Doug Taubert of Minnesota; nieces and nephews; other family members and many good friends.
Mike is preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Jacob Michael Lefler and one brother-in-law, Gregory Taubert.
Mike attended the Lancaster United Methodist Church as long as his health permitted.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri with Leanna vanZandt, Pastor of the United Methodist Church officiating. CD musical selections will be "Wichita Lineman" and "Your Still The One" will be performed. Pianist will be Joni Newland. Pallbearers will be Mark Smyser, Quinten Smyser, Jared Shaw, Joseph White, Stanley Elschlager and Donald Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Hixon and Devin Akin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral services from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the family. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri at a later date, as the body will be cremated following the funeral services.
