Oveta Faye (Hollowell) Minter, 83 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at her home in Lancaster, Missouri on Friday, May 18, 2012.
The daughter of Irl Richard and Jewell Gertrude (Vinson) Hollowell, Oveta was born on September 9, 1928 in Hollis, Oklahoma. On May 6, 1949 she was united in marriage to Earl Ray Minter in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and to this union three children were born, Paula Sue, Martin Ray and Richard Earl.
Survivors include her children, Paula Sue Roberts and husband, Tommy of Lancaster, Missouri, Martin Ray Minter of Unionville, Missouri and Dr. Richard Earl Minter and wife, Beth of Lancaster, Missouri; 6 grandchildren, Travis Lyle Roberts and wife, Jodi of Lancaster, Missouri, Stephanie Louise Robinson and husband, Patrick of Lancaster, Missouri, Lindsay Sue Minter of Queen City, Missouri, Holly Rae Snider and husband, Cody of Queen City, Missouri, Seth Ryan Minter and wife, Jami of Macomb, Illinois and Lauren Szabo and Trey Alexander of SanTan Valley, Arizona; 6 great grandchildren, Tinley, Taylor and Halle Roberts of Lancaster, Missouri, Raygen and Kennedy Vincent of Queen City, Missouri and Parker Robinson of Lancaster, Missouri; 1 brother, Vinson Hollowell and wife, Pat of Carrollton, Missouri; 2 sisters-in-law, Joy Hollowell of Irving, Texas and Millie Cook and husband, Joe of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Oveta is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. Earl Ray Minter on April 29, 1998 and three brothers, Gerald, Troy and Richard Hollowell and one daughter-in-law, Denise Minter.
Oveta was a member of the Friendship Community Church of Lancaster, Missouri and a very devoted member of the PEO Sisterhood.
Oveta was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother who always treasured the time she was able to spend with her family. She was the "Rock of Faith" and very strong for her family.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Christian Church with Pastor Steve Altheide assisted by Bob Welsh officiating. Music will be provided by Cole Tippett and Beth Gravett, soloists. Special musical selections will be "Oh Glorious Day " and "In The Garden". Pallbearers will be Travis Roberts, Seth Minter, Patrick Robinson, Cody Snider, John West and Gary Kimbrell. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Baseball Softball Association and Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
