Ova Dorine (Kinnamon) Martin
January 7, 1924 – March 19, 2017

Ova Dorine (Kinnamon) Martin, 93 of rural Bloomfield, Iowa passed away on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.

The daughter of Charles and Melissa Jane "Jenny" (Grahm) Kinnamon, Senior, she was born on January 7, 1924 in Davis County, Iowa. She was a graduate of the Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, Iowa. On September 26, 1942 in Queen City, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Billy Max Martin and to this union five children were born, Stuart, Lynn, Nancy, Dennis and Edwin.

Survivors include her children, Lynn Martin and wife, Aletha of South Amana, Iowa, Nancy McElroy and husband, Donnie of rural Queen City, Missouri and Edwin Martin and wife, Kim of Marengo, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; one sister, Veda Swift of Neosho, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Gretchen Kinnamon of Bloomfield, Iowa; nieces; nephews and other relatives and a host of friends.

Ova is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy Max Martin on September 14, 2001; two sons, Dennis Martin and Stuart Martin; one grandson, Ashley McElroy; 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Ova and Bill lived on the same farm near Bloomfield, Iowa for approximately seventy-five years. She was able to maintain her home until recently due to health. She was a member of the Savannah Christian Church and their Ladies Aide group.

She enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her spare time, she loved to quilt and had made quilts for her children and great grandchildren to cherish her memories.

Graveside services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at the Darby Cemetery northeast of Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site or to the Darby Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Interment will be in the Darby Cemetery, northeast of Lancaster, Missouri.
