Melissa Jo Henry

December 6, 1966 – October 20, 2022

Melissa Jo Henry, 55 of Lacrosse, Virginia passed away at her home on Thursday, October 20, 2022 following a brief illness.

The daughter of Richard Keith and Judy Kay (Schuchman) Henry, she was born in Kirksville, Missouri on December 6, 1966.  She was a graduate of Schuyler R-I School System and attended Seminole State College in Seminole, Oklahoma receiving a nursing degree.  At the time of her death, she was employed as a traveling nurse.

Survivors include her son, Korey Henry and wife, Crystal of Lacrosse, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Evelyn, Felicity, Lana, Hezekiah, Melody, Sally and Nancy Henry all of Lacrosse, Virginia; her mother, Judy Childress and husband, Jack of Downing, Missouri; one sister, Beverly Young of Shawnee, Kansas; one brother, Randy Henry and wife, Patrice of Leavenworth, Kansas; two nieces, Christine Dolan and husband, Robert and family of Piper, Kansas and Catherine Henry of Shawnee, Kansas; other family members and many good friends.

Melissa is preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Melissa was a strong Christian and was an example of this in all that she did whether it be at work or just being with the grandchildren.  Her favorite time was when she was spending time with the grandchildren taking them on adventures.  She was called 'Meme" by her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the home of Jack and Judy Childress in rural Downing, Missouri on Saturday, November 12, 2022 between the hours of 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
