Maxine (Blaine) Brewer
June 7, 1925 – December 23, 2015

Maxine (Blaine) Brewer, 90 of Bible Grove, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

The youngest of thirteen children, she was the daughter of William and Alta (Hunter) Blaine, she was born on June 7, 1925 in rural Bible Grove, Missouri. On February 2, 1942, she was united in marriage to Hershel Roy Brewer and celebrated 71 years of marriage. To this union, three children were born, Karen, Jim and Connie.

Survivors include her children, Karen Corwin and husband, Tom of Bible Grove, Missouri, Jim Brewer and wife, Sue Jane of Downing, Missouri and Connie Wood of Memphis, Missouri; six grandchildren, Chris Childress and wife, Billie Jo of Memphis, Missouri, Kelle Gunnell and husband, Bill of Downing, Missouri, Aaron Brewer and wife, Sarah of Kirksville, Missouri, Matthew Brewer and wife, Jessica of Memphis, Missouri, Dustin Swearingen of Kansas City, Missouri and Bradley Wood of Memphis, Missouri; 10 great grandchildren, Kala, Kara and Kyle Childress, Shane Gunnell, Gabrielle and Claire Brewer, Reagan and Jarrett Matthew Brewer, Tyler Swearingen and Brayden Wood; one sister-in-law, Dorothy Smith of Kirksville, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; other family members which include Bonnie Smith, and Betty Couch who was raised as Maxine's sister; she also included Vernon and Tracy Carroll and Norm and Mallory Oliver as part of her family and many good friends including Kelly Buckallew, Jan, Linda and Mike Farris.

Maxine was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hershel on July 9, 2013; 6 sisters, Bess Salisbury, Jessie Crowder, Verlee Blaine, Ethel Millett, Madeline Phillips and one in infancy; 6 brothers, Oat, Cecil, Carl, Mayhue, Millard and Oren during World War I.

Maxine and Hershel were lifetime farmers in the Bible Grove, Missouri area living on the family farm approximately 70 years. She was a faithful member of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri for 18 years.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri with Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Betty Anderson and soloist, Alisa Kigar. Musical selections will be "Ivory Palaces" and "When I've Gone The Last Mile of the Way". Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Aaron Brewer, Matthew Brewer, Chris Childress, Dustin Swearingen, Bradley Wood and Bill Gunnell. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015 at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Memorials have been established for the Downing Christian Church or to the Bible Grove Cemetery.
