Max Franklin Shively, 90 formerly of Lancaster, Missouri, passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Thursday, August 29, 2019 where he had been a resident since December 2017.
The son of George Arthur and Edna Frances (Epperson) Shively, he was born on August 9, 1929 in rural Queen City, Missouri. Max was a graduate of the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri. On May 17, 1952, he was united in marriage to Neva Norene Feagins in Las Vegas, Nevada and to this union three children were born, Randy, Christy and Felicia.
Max is survived by his three children, Randy Shively and friend, Betty Morris of Lancaster, Missouri, Christy McGoldrick and husband, David Mark of Lancaster, Missouri and Felicia Shively of Adair County, Missouri; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews and other family members.
Max is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Neva on January 2, 2017; three sisters, Deloris Carpenter, Mary Jackson and Neva Sommerville and three brothers, Merlin Shively, Rex Shively and Richard Shively.
Max served in the United States Marines Corps from 1950 until 1954 during the Korean Conflict and received an honorable discharge in 1954. Max was a grain and livestock farmer as well as a Fork truck driver for John Deere Ottumwa Works in Ottumwa, Iowa for approximately twenty-three years.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Special CD selections of "I'll Fly Away" and "Amazing Grace" will be performed. Pallbearers will be Travis Roberts, Ryan Brown, Roger B. Wilson, Hollie Anderson, Charles Ferdig and Bill Simbro. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. Memorials have been established for the Arni Memorial Cemetery. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
