Max R. Prough
October 8, 1930 - July 29, 2015

Max R. Prough, 84 of Greentop, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville, Missouri.

The son of J. Boyd and Minnie L. (Eiffert) Prough, he was born east of Greentop, Missouri on October 8, 1930. On February 4, 1951, he married Barbara Ann Cooper and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2013.

Max is survived by two children, Debra Ledford and son-in-law, Bob of Greentop, Missouri and Michael Prough and daughter-in-law, Susan of St. John, Indiana; one brother, Lala Prough and his wife, Linda of Greentop, Missouri; 2 grandsons, Michael Ledford and his wife, Felicia of Mulberry, Florida and Jason Ledford and his wife, Amanda of Reeds Spring, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Josie and Zane Ledford; four nieces, Sherry Smoyer and husband, Larry of Kirksville, Missouri, Cindy Bowers and husband, Craig of Greentop, Missouri, Pam Lutz and husband, John of Greentop, Missouri and Patty Prough of Quincy, Illinois; 1 sister-in-law, Peggy Spencer of St. Charles, Missouri; other family members and many good friends.

Max was a member of the Greentop Baptist Church. He attended Prough Grade School and Greentop High School.

Graveside services will be held at Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Greentop Cemetery in Greentop, Missouri with Pastor Robert Ledford, officiating. Music will be provided by Jason Ledford singing "Amazing Grace". Memorials have been established for Greentop Cemetery. Burial will be in the Greentop Cemetery in Greentop, Missouri.
