Marjorie Ruth Channell Schmid

November 14, 1921 – July 16, 2017

Marjorie Ruth Channell Schmid, 96 of Rossford, Ohio passed away at her home in Rossford, Ohio where she had resided for the last 58 years.

The daughter of Roy and Hazel Channell, she was born in Macon, Missouri on November 14, 1921.  She earned an education degree from Kirksville State Teacher's College, taught in their demonstration high school and later did graduate work at Northwestern. In February 1946 she was united in marriage to Charles Edward Schmid and to this union a set of twins, George and Cathy were born.

Survivors include her children, George and Cathy; three grandsons, David Brent Essinger, Charles Quincy Essinger and Joel Stewart Schmid; two great grandchildren, June and Levin Essinger and in laws, Ann Sigafus Schmid, Nicholas Essinger, Alice Nelson Essinger and Yukiko Doi Essinger.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri with H. R. Rogers, Pastor of the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
