July 14, 1952 – November 15, 2016

Marilyn Faye (Phelps) Roberts, 64 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2016 at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

The daughter of Forrest and Opal F. Phelps, she was born on July 14, 1952 in Milan, Illinois. Marilyn was a 1970 graduate of the Schuyler R-I School. In June 1996, she was united in marriage to Bill Roberts.

Survivors include her adopted sister, Sandra Newland and husband, Bobby of Lancaster, Missouri; nieces, Kristina, Amanda, Becky and April; several great nieces and nephews and many many good friends including Tracy Houk of Lancaster, Missouri.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill and one sister, Carolyn Phelps.

Marilyn was a member of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri where she was a very faithful member as long as her health permitted. She also was active in working with the Clothes Nook and the Food Room located in Lancaster, Missouri.

She held various jobs in the Columbia, Missouri area retiring as a billing clerk for the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

Marilyn was a very loving and caring person to everyone she came in contact with and loved animals.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Pallbearers will be Dwayne Harris, Norman Garr, Christopher West, Jesse Simmons, Vic Farrell and Tim Winters. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 22, 2016 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri. Burial will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri.
