October 9, 1930 - June 6, 2017
Marilyn Jane (Rhodes) Foreman, 86 of rural Queen City, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.
The daughter of Walter Hansen and Mabel (Brown) Rhodes, she was born on October 9, 1930 in Marshalltown, Iowa.
On May 24, 1947 in Toledo, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Leslie Keith Foreman and to this union five children were born, Alan, Nancy, Gary, Leanna and Evan.
Survivors include her children, Alan Foreman of rural Queen City, Missouri, Nancy Purk and husband, Don of Belle Plaine, Iowa, Gary Foreman and wife, Debra of Kirksville, Missouri, Leanna Nauman and husband, John of St. Joseph, Missouri and Evan Foreman and wife, Debby of Kirksville, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Jeff Purk, Rodney Purk, Donnie Purk and wife, Sarah, Jeremy Purk and wife, Latisha, Lori Foreman, Wendy van Zandt and husband, Chad, Vicky Foreman, Christina Krultz and husband, Adam, Nathan Foreman and wife, Kayla, Zachary van Zandt, Aliah Foreman; fourteen great grandchildren, Keith Purk, Jeff Purk, Jr., Darrian Purk, Maddox Purk, Cayllen Purk, Keon Purk, Kena Purk, Abbey Rupe, A. J. Rupe, Brett Sisson, Austin Sisson, Kyler Sisson, Devon Moore, McKayla Moore; three great great grandchildren, James Purk, Asher Lynn Rupe and Jaylynn Danielle Sisson; one sister, Nancy Long and husband, Bill of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; nieces, nephews and other family members.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leslie Keith Foreman on December 1, 2009; two great grandchildren, Gregory Alan Foreman and Tianna Purk.
Marilyn was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri where she was very active as long as her health permitted. She was also a Curator for a number of years for the Schuyler County Historical Society in Lancaster, Missouri.
Keith and Marilyn were dairy farmers for a number of years on their farm southeast of Lancaster, Missouri. Her retention of facts, knowledge and wisdom along with her win it all spirit, would certainly have made Marilyn the all time Jeopardy champion if given the chance! She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who was admired and respected by all.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Gary Stump officiating. Special CD selections of "This Is My Father's World" and "How Great Thou Art" will be performed. Pallbearers will be Jeff Purk, Rod Purk, Donnie Purk, Jermey Purk, Zach van Zandt and Nathan Foreman. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Lancaster United Methodist Church, Schuyler County Historical Society and the Schuyler County Library. Burial will be in the Thomas Cemetery, southeast of Lancaster, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
