Marilyn Joyce (Landtiser) Abbott
August 1, 1933 – January 10, 2014

Marilyn Abbott, 80 formerly of Lancaster, Missouri, passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri where she had been a resident since 2012.

The daughter of Leonard Leo and Mabel Opal (Johnson) Landtiser, she was born in Centerville, Iowa on August 1, 1933. On October 29, 1951 in Lancaster, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Gene D. Abbott and to this union two daughters were born, Marla and Genea.

Surviving are two daughters, Marla Randolph and husband, William of Rome, Georgia and Genea Davis of Kenosha, Wisconsin; 7 grandchildren, Jeni Wenrick, Nathan Mylar, Laura Mylar, David Moore, Matthew Moore, Logan Randolph and Matthew Middleton; 2 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Juanita Lonis of Glenwood, Missouri; 1 brother, Charles Landtiser and wife, Joy of Kirksville, Missouri; nieces and nephews; other family members and many good friends.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 14, 2003; 1 sister, Christa Taylor.

Marilyn attended the Friendship Community Church and the Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, Missouri as long as her health permitted.

Some of her favorite hobbies included sewing of all kind, cake decorating, cooking and especially music which included playing the piano for various church functions!

She was a loving and supportive wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Pastor Jon Mark Trammel officiating. Special CD musical selections of "In The Garden" and "How Great Thou Art" will be provided. Pallbearers will be Danny Welte, Lyle York, Neil Abbott, Quinten Smyser, Gary Kimbrell and Lonnie Brown. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2014 between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Livonia, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
