Margaret Alice Lake

Margaret Alice (Beach) Lake, 85, of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.
The daughter of Herbert Dewey and Anna Ivalee (Ayer) Beach, she was born on January 31, 1931 in Downing, Missouri. Following her graduation from the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri, Margaret was united in marriage to Gilbert Eugene Miller on July 5, 1952 in Arkansas and to this union 2 children were born, James Gilbert and Leisa Jean.
In October 26, 1989, she was united in marriage to Harold Gean Lake.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Gean of Lancaster, Missouri; her children, Jim Miller and wife, Nancy of Waukee, Iowa and Leisa Walter and husband, Greg of Kirksville, Missouri; 3 grandchildren, Amy Garr and husband, Mark of Lancaster, Missouri, Megan Saffell and husband, Todd of Ottumwa, Iowa and Lydia Flennory and husband, John of Kirksville, Missouri; 7 great grandchildren, Kaitlea, Ian, Caleb and Rory Garr of Lancaster, Missouri; Calvin and Libby Saffell of Ottumwa, Iowa and Kayden Flennory of Kirksville, Missouri; nieces; nephews and other family members.
Her parents; four sisters, Annalee Abbott and husband, Howard, Nina Mae Garr and husband, Paul and two in infancy and one great grandson, Matthew Garr, precede Margaret in death.
Margaret worked at the Modernaire Café in Lancaster, Missouri for several years. Following her work at the Modernaire Café, she worked at Hollister's in Kirksville, Missouri then Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri for five years as an aide, which she enjoyed very much. Due to health reasons, she began babysitting in her home for a number of families that she and Gean bonded with and the children became "their" kids!

Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 30, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Baptist Church in Lancaster, Missouri with Lonnie Johnson, Pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church officiating. Pianist, Twila Anderson and soloist, Cole Tippett performing "Precious Lord Take My Hand" and "Great Is Thy Faithfulness", will provide music. Pallbearers will be Daniel Haley, Matt Haley, Henry Cook, William Parsons, Jeff Tallman and Tanner VanTress. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 29, 2017 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Burial will be held in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
