Margaret Eleanor Bruner
June 29, 1924 - March 24, 2013

Margaret Eleanor Bruner, 88 of Downing, Missouri passed away Sunday, March 24, 2013 at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The daughter of Hollie E. and Hazel Jane (McCuskey) Middleton, she was born on June 29, 1924 in rural Schuyler County, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Charles Wesley Bruner on March 16, 1946 in Lancaster, Missouri and to this union four children were born.

Margaret enjoyed counted cross-stitching and had many beautiful examples in her home. She was a wonderful cook and hosted great family dinners as long as her health permitted. She traveled with Charles to many of his Company "B" reunions and visited much of North America with him.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Michael Bruner and wife, Denise of Trenton, Missouri and James Leo and wife, Terri of Downing, Missouri; two daughters, Susan Jane Burgher and her husband, Bruce of Moulton, Iowa and Sara Jo "Jodie" York and significant other, Steve Racey of Lancaster, Missouri; five grandchildren, Caleb Cornett and his wife, Debbie of Chicago, Illinois, Troy Bruner of Hamilton, Missouri, Travis Bruner of Columbia, Missouri, Alex Bruner of Maryville, Missouri and Drew Bruner of Downing, Missouri; 2 step-grandchildren, Shane Burgher and wife, Erica of Moravia, Iowa and Beau Burgher and wife, Alicia of Moulton, Iowa; 8 step-great-grandchildren; one brother, George David Middleton and wife, Barbara of Springfield, Missouri; six sisters, Mary Alice Hale and her husband, Paul of Memphis, Missouri, Minnie Marie Pattison of Springfield, Missouri, Doris Hollie Anderson of Memphis, Missouri, Ellen Rose Shepherd and her husband, Charles of Chicago Heights, Illinois, Hazel Annette Hawkins of Plainfield, Illinois and Carol Louise McIntire of Westchester, Illinois; fifty-two nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles in 2011; three brothers, Robert E. Middleton in 2002, Joe T. Middleton in 2001 and Jim D. Middleton in 1927.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "In The Garden" and "Amazing Grace". Visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial services at 10:00 a.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith. Memorials have been established for the Fabius Cemetery. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date in the Fabius Cemetery.
