Lura Deloris Goosey
April 4, 1926 – March 9, 2018
Lura Deloris Goosey, 91 years, 11 months, of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Medical City Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas on Friday, March 9, 2018.
The daughter of William McKinley and Bessie Alena (Gillespie) White, she was born on Easter Sunday, on April 4, 1926 in Mark, Iowa.
In 1950, Lura married Virgil Mike Gingerich and to this union two daughters were born, Lynda and Marsha. On May 25, 1962, she married Floyd "Bub" Allen Darr and to this union a daughter, Lisa was born. On June 16, 1995, she married Ira Estel Goosey.
Lura is survived by her children, Lynda Havard of Bedford, Texas, Marsha Eppley and husband, Lyndell of Lufkin, Texas and Lisa Darr and husband, Ken Morton of Lufkin, Texas; step children, Loretta Alden and husband, Gideon of Kempton, Pennsylvania, Charles Goosey and wife, Barbara of Sturgeon, Missouri, LeRoy Goosey and wife, Patty of Parker, Colorado, Paul Goosey and wife, Vickey of Bella Vista, Arkansas; one sister, Barbara Grindle and husband, Neal of Ottumwa, Iowa; 23 grandchildren; 42 great grandchildren; 9 great, great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends. Also, her "adopted" children and grandchildren, Dennis, Kathy, Nicole and Spencer.
Lura is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, (Floyd) "Bub" and Estel; five brothers, Junior, Carl, Dwain, Kenneth and J.O. White; one sister, Helen Bailey; two step children, Robert Eugene Goosey and Jerry Lee Bailey; eight brothers-in-laws and one son-in-law, Thomas Havard, III.
Lura was a devoted, lifelong member of the Lancaster Baptist Church where she held many church positions. She was Schuyler County Treasurer from 1970 until 1998. She volunteered at the Schuyler County Ministerial Alliance, Food Bank, Clothes Nook and each political election. She was a world class quilter with many beautiful masterpieces that her family treasure.
After her retirement in l998, she enjoyed traveling, quilting, visiting with her friends and neighbors and loving on her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. She will be missed greatly by everyone whose lives she touched. We know that she was greeted by her loving family and our Heavenly Father.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Baptist Church in Lancaster, Missouri with Lonnie Johnson assisted by Robert Harrison officiating. Music will be provided by pianist, Donna Welte and soloist, Cole Tippett performing special selections of "In The Garden" and "Softly and Tenderly". Pallbearers will be Thomas Havard, Scott Havard, Sam Eppley, John Kethe, Mikel Roberts and Danny Wheeler. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 17, 2018 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Arni Memorial Cemetery. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
