Louis Elden (Bill) Snedigar

Louis Elden (Bill) Snedigar, 95 of Queen City, Missouri formerly of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri.
The son of Oscar Roy and Cowden (Cullum) Snedigar, Bill was born on March 12, 1919 in Des Moines, Iowa. On June 8, 1946 in Hiawatha, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Patricia Jean Taylor and to this union two children were born, Rudy Carl and Billie Jean.
Survivors include his children, Rudy Carl Snedigar and wife, Deborah of Lancaster, Missouri and Billie Jean Hart and husband, Bob of Excelsior Springs, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Melissa Halterman and fiancée, Bill Loeffert of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Travis Salisbury and wife, Linnea of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Wesley Snedigar and wife, Rheonna of Richmond, Indiana, Jesse Snedigar and wife, Melodie of Kansas City, Missouri, Elizabeth McGuire and husband, Andrew of Kansas City, Missouri, Ethan Snedigar and wife, Sadee of Robertsdale, Alabama, Seth Snedigar and wife, Rebecca of Valley, Alabama and Lucas Snedigar and fiancée, Suzette McCall of Fairplay, South Carolina; 15 great grandchildren, Peyton Halterman, Carson Salisbury, Bella Loeffert, Alec and Aiden Snedigar, Amelia Snedigar, Tate, Drew Brooks and Gabriel McGuire, Adia and Veda Snedigar, Madyson and Connor Snedigar and Kaira Snedigar; numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and many good friends.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jean Snedigar on February 15, 2009; 1 great grandson, Dauphin Lawrence Snedigar; 1 brother, Elmer Snedigar; 5 sisters, Marie Spargur, Cerise Landtiser, Imogene Snedigar, Ersie Followwill and Geneva McClellan.
Bill was a member of the United Methodist Church in Lancaster, Missouri.
Bill graduated from the Livonia High School in Livonia, Missouri and then served his country from 1941 until 1945 in the United States Army during World War II and received an honorable discharge in 1945. Bill was a member of the Masons having received his 50 year pin. He enjoyed playing golf, was an avid Royals fan and an excellent woodworker and craftsman.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "Go Rest High On That Mountain" and "How Great Thou Art". Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Wesley Snedigar, Jesse Snedigar, Ethan Snedigar, Seth Snedigar, Lucas Snedigar and Travis Salisbury. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the St. John's Cemetery in Livonia, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. The Missouri Military Funeral Honors Team will conduct military rites at the cemetery. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Livonia, Missouri.
