Lois Marie Brown, 87 of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
Lois Marie Brown was born on August 18, 1936 to Carl Raymond and Hazel Frances (Simpson) Brown. She was raised from birth by Virgil and Mary Ellen (Brown) Jones.
Survivors include several cousins including two special attentive cousins, Nancy Hulen of Kirksville, Missouri and Diane Toney of Kirksville, Missouri and other family members and friends.
Lois is preceded in death by her mother, Hazel very shortly after Lois' birth; also preceding her was her Daddy Carl; aunts and uncle, Mary Ellen and her husband, Virgil Jones, Ona May Graves, Bertha Hulen, Emogene Triplett and Clarence Brown.
Lois lived her entire life in Lancaster, Missouri with Mary Ellen and Virgil Jones as her parents. Lois learned of her independence later in life and she enjoyed playing bingo, embroidery and crochet work. She loved to travel and camp with her very special cousin, Nancy or on the OATS bus. She volunteered at the Schuyler County Nutrition Site for approximately 20 years. Lois became a permanent resident of the Schuyler County Nursing Home in November 2015.
Lois was our family historian and anything we wanted to know, now is gone. We will love and miss you forever Lois.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri. The family will meet at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri at 1:30 p.m. Friends are invited to join the family at the cemetery at 2:00 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.
