Leota Millicen (Shepherd) Groseclose
October 25, 1923 – September 13, 2013

Leota Millicen (Shepherd) Groseclose, 89, of Queen City, Missouri, formerly of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

The daughter of William Francis and Mildred Temple (Graves) Shepherd, she was born on October 25, 1923 in Hannibal, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Price Lee Groseclose on October 27, 1945 in Lancaster, Missouri and to this union three sons were born, Billy Joe, Bobby and Jimmy.

Survivors include her sons, Bobby Groseclose of Lancaster, Missouri and Jimmy Groseclose and wife, Debbie of Lancaster, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Kevin Groseclose, Daniel Groseclose, Billy Groseclose, Robert Groseclose Jr., James Groseclose, Ryan Groseclose and wife, Kristie, Eric Groseclose, Aaron Groseclose, Jake Groseclose, Torrie Groseclose and Natasha Groseclose; 12 great grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Groseclose of Lewistown, Missouri; one special cousin, Maureen Watkins of Lancaster, Missouri; one special niece, Thelma Duffey of Mendon, Illinois; several nieces and nephews; other family members including her Schuyler County Nursing Home family of 14 years and many good friends.

Preceding Leota in death include her parents; her husband, Price on November 4, 1999; one son, William Joseph (Billy Joe) Groseclose on June 24, 2008; one grandson, Christopher Groseclose and one brother, Billy Walker Shepherd in 1935.

Leota was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri. She worked for Northeast Missouri State College in the housekeeping department for 10 years.

Leota loved to visit with friends and family that would stop by the nursing home to say "Hi"! She will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Maureen Watkins and soloist, Cole Tippett. Special selections will be "Precious Memories" and "In The Garden". Pallbearers will be Ryan Michael Groseclose, Eric James Groseclose, Aaron Christopher Groseclose, Jake Andrew Groseclose, Russel Lee Melvin and Darrell Gooden. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
