Kathy Sue Smith

September 22, 1957 – July 14, 2025

Kathy Sue Smith, 67 of rural Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025 at her home.

The daughter of Harold and Genevieve "Jenny" (Walls) Green, she was born on September 22, 1957 in Champaign, Illinois.  She was a high school graduate and attended college where she received her associate degree.  On May 14, 1994, in Kilwinning, Missouri, she was united in marriage to William E. Smith and to this union one son, Joshua was born.

Kathy is survived by her husband, William E. Smith of rural Lancaster, Missouri; one son, Joshua Smith of Kirksville, Missouri; two sisters, Judy Sunderman and husband, Mark of Collierville, Tennessee and Susan Taylor and husband, Glen of Denver, Colorado and several nieces and nephews.

Kathy is preceded in death by her parents.

Kathy was an avid quilter and gardener, loved knitting, house plants and her cats.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Brad Drummond of Lancaster, Missouri officiating.  A musical selection of "How Great Thou Art" will be performed.  A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri.  Memorials have been established for the family.  Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.  Burial will be at a later date in the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, Missouri.
