James Eldon McGoldrick
March 9, 1952 - April 10, 2013

James Eldon "Red Beard" McGoldrick, 61 of Glenwood, Missouri passed away unexpectedly at the Boone Hospital Center on Wednesday, April 10, 2013.

Eldon McGoldrick was born on March 9, 1952 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was the son of James Alvin and Ethel Mae (Kearse) McGoldrick. Eldon attended school in Glenwood and Lancaster, graduating from Lancaster in 1970. Eldon married Debbie Lancaster on September 25, 1970 in Glenwood, Missouri and to this union 2 sons were born, Mike and Jeff.

Eldon had many jobs from factory worker, truck driver, bulldozer operator to farmer. Eldon loved the farm and his family. He wanted to pass on to his sons and their sons everything he learned from his Dad and Grandpa. Eldon loved being a Grandpa, starting with a beautiful granddaughter who was the apple of her Grandpa's eye and then two wonderful grandsons.

Eldon is survived by his wife, Debbie McGoldrick of Glenwood, Missouri; 2 sons, Mike McGoldrick and wife, Marti of Glenwood, Missouri and Jeff McGoldrick and friend, Michelle of Lancaster, Missouri; 3 wonderful grandchildren, Ashley Denise McGoldrick of Glenwood, Missouri, Caleb Michael McGoldrick of Glenwood, Missouri and Tyler James McGoldrick of Queen City, Missouri; 1 sister, Laurie Eads and husband, Scott of Lancaster, Missouri; 2 brothers, Wayne McGoldrick and wife, Joyce of Lancaster, Missouri and David Mark McGoldrick and wife, Christy of Lancaster, Missouri; 2 aunts, Betty Sebolt and husband, Joe of Lancaster, Missouri and Sally Kearse of Lancaster, Missouri; father and mother-in-law, Bud and Darlene Lancaster of Glenwood, Missouri; 1 brother-in-law, Russell Lancaster and wife, Theresa of Lancaster, Missouri; nieces; nephews; cousins; his faithful companion "Ladd" and other family members.

Eldon is preceded in death by his grandparents, Luther and Ruby McGoldrick and Ed and Hilda Kearse; his parents, Alvin and Ethel Mae McGoldrick; three uncles, James Edward Kearse, Clarence Kearse and Dale McGoldrick and one sister-in-law, Rhoda Buckallew.

Eldon was a member of the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #427 of Glenwood, Missouri for 33 years. He was also a very strong St. Louis Cardinal fan especially if they were winning!

Eldon was a supportive husband for 42 years, a wonderful father and grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eldon McGoldrick farm north of Glenwood, Missouri with Sonny Smyser , Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Masonic services will be conducted during the services. Memorials have been established for Glenwood Cemetery. Private burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery at a later date as the body has been cremated. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
