Ida Mae (West) Corder Foster was born on March 7, 1921 near Coatsville, Missouri. She was the eighth child born to Edwin E. and Ollie Belle (Hayes) West. She grew up in rural Schuyler County, Missouri. On December 15, 1945, she was married to Ralph (Pat) Corder. They had three children, Donna, Linda and Terry. Ralph Corder passed away in 1993. In 2003, she married Hershel Foster. He passed away in 2014. Ida Mae had six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.
Ida Mae (West) Corder Foster passed away on August 19, 2018 in Liberty, Missouri after residing with her daughter, Donna Ledford for almost eight years. At the time of her death, she was a new member of Nashua Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. Previously, she had been a faithful member of Northside Baptist Church in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Cog Hill Baptist Church in Etowah, Tennessee, Calvary Baptist Church in Sedalia, Missouri and Fountain Baptist Church in Fountain, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Hershel Foster and Ralph (Pat) Corder; her five brothers and five sisters; her mother and father and one granddaughter, Trisha (Bishop) Walker. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Donna Ledford of Kansas City, Missouri and Linda Bishop and husband, Rick of Meeker, Colorado; her son, Terry Corder of St. Joseph, Missouri; her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; her niece, Susan Miller and many other nieces and nephews she loved.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. A eulogy will be given by Carl Gower. Music will be provided by The West Connection. Special musical selections will be "Precious Memories" and "How Great Thou Art". Pallbearers will be Doug Pruessner, Josiah Pruessner, Nate Pruessner, Zach Pruessner, Stacey Ledford, Sully Ledford, Rex Brooker, Linn West, Cookie McKim and Mark Smith. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Northside Baptist Church, 701 Highway 74, Mt. Vernon, Missouri 65712. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com. Burial will be in the Rose Cemetery in Putnam County, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
