Helen R. (Ritter) Pickens Moran
October 2, 1921 – March 22, 2012

Helen R. Moran, 90 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away at the Scotland County Hospital in Memphis, Missouri on Thursday, March 22, 2012.

The daughter of William and Josephina (Casterita) Ritter, she was born on October 2, 1921 in Los Angeles, California. On November 4, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lewis Leallen Pickens and to this union 5 daughters were born, Diane, Sandra, Cathy Jo, Susan and Janis. Lewis preceded Helen in death. She was later united in marriage to Jim Moran, who also preceded Helen in death.

Survivors include her children, Susan Snowbarger and husband, William of San Diego, California, Cathy Jo Farley and husband, Gail of Downing, Missouri and Janis Current and friend, Donnie Clay of Kahoka, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Lezlea Bulecheck, Jeremy Frederick, Angela Shea, Freedom Rojas and Jacqueline Leasure; several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and other family members.

Helen is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lewis Pickens on July 3, 1977 and Jim Moran in January, 1999; 2 daughters, Diane Barnhouse and Sandra Goodell; 2 grandsons, Derick Farley and James Barnhouse.

Helen and Lewis lived in Glenwood, Missouri for a number of years where she was an active member of the Glenwood United Methodist Church, Royal Neighbors of America and the Glenwood Garden Club. She loved to read, crocheting, which she made many hats and Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and friends but her greatest joy was taking care of the grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Pastor Rob Quillin of Wyaconda First Baptist Church in Wyaconda, Missouri. Officiating. Special CD musical selections of "In The Garden" and "Blessed Assurance" will be performed. Memorials have been established for the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Missouri. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery at a later date as the body has been cremated. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
