Hazel Olena (Williams) Boggs
December 9, 1922 – July 26, 2013

Hazel Olena (Williams) Boggs, 90 of Queen City, Missouri passed away on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri where she had been a resident since October 2005.

The daughter of Alva and Mary Ann (McBee) Williams, she was born on December 9, 1922 in Worthington, Missouri. On November 29, 1939 in Lancaster, Missouri, Hazel was united in marriage to Donald Floyd Boggs and to this union 8 children were born, Larry, Donald, Alva, David, Jimmy, Linda, Faye and Mary Ellen.

Hazel is survived by her children, Larry Boggs and wife, Ramona of Novinger, Missouri, Donald Boggs, Jr. and wife, Kathy of Colona, Illinois, Alva Boggs and wife, Marilyn of Seymour, Iowa, David Boggs and wife, Mary of Derby, Iowa, Linda Capps of Davenport, Iowa, Faye Moots of Hamilton, Missouri and Mary Ellen Hoffman of Springfield, Missouri; 26 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.

Hazel is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald on February 19, 1986; 1 son, Jimmy Boggs; 4 grandchildren, Teresa Ann Boggs, Melissa Ann Boggs, Beverley Robinson and Scotty Boggs and 3 brothers, Garland Williams, Carl Williams and George Williams.

Hazel and Donald farmed for a time in the neighborhood where Donald was born, then moved into Glenwood, Missouri. They later moved to Queen City, Missouri in 1974. She was a member of the Queen City Baptist Church in Queen City, Missouri. Hazel was employed by the Kirksville Osteopathic Hospital in Kirksville, Missouri from where she retired in the Housekeeping department for approximately 30 years.

Hazel was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother who loved spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri at 11:00 a.m. with Larry Gibson, pastor of the Kirksville Baptist Church in Kirksville, Missouri officiating. Musical CD selections of "Beautiful Isle", "One Day At A Time" and "In The Garden" will be performed. Soloist will be Donald Boggs, Jr. Pallbearers will be Justin Boggs, Josh Robinson, Jacob Barker, Jeffery Boggs, Jerry Boggs and Patrick Yates. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Queen City Cemetery in Queen City, Missouri. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery in Queen City, Missouri. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
