Harold Wayne Hill
December 12, 1932 – June 7, 2012

Harold Wayne Hill, 79 of Glenwood, Missouri passed away at the Boone County Hospital in Columbia, Missouri on Thursday, June 7, 2012.

The son of Paris Marion and Dollie Verta (Reynolds) Hill, he was born on December 12, 1932 in rural Glenwood, Missouri. Shortly after his entrance into the United States Air Force, Harold was united in marriage to Jaunita Ruth Simbro on June 20, 1950 in Wichita Falls, Texas and to this union 5 children were born, Cindy, Philip, Michael, Jeffery and Brad.

Survivors include his children: Cindy Matern and husband, Hal of Nashville, Tennessee, Philip Hill and wife, Laurie of Federal Way, Washington, Michael Hill and wife, Winnie of Eagle River, Alaska, Jeffery Hill and wife, Bobbi of Glenwood, Missouri and Brad Hill and Sally Ayer of Glenwood, Missouri; 10 grandchildren: Samantha Hill, Brianne Klibbe, Melinda Neill, Joshua Hill, Brittany Matern, Alex Hill, Kathy Hill, Jenny Matern, Stephanie Hill and Jonathon Hill; 7 great grandchildren: Ian, Phenix, Tacey, Delaney, Maya, Caleb and Grayson; 3 sisters, Dorothy Randall of Kirksville, Missouri, Ruth Thompson of Kirksville, Missouri and Anna Gillespie and husband, Everett of Glenwood, Missouri; 1 brother-in-law, Rusty Simbro of Glenwood, Missouri; 3 sisters-in-law; many nieces and nephews and many good friends.

Harold is preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jaunita on December 30, 1997.

Harold was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri who attended faithfully as long as his health permitted.

Following his honorable discharge from the United States Air Force after serving his country for 22 years, Harold and Jaunita returned to Glenwood, Missouri to make their home and to farm. Harold was also employed as a mechanic with John Deere for over 25 years.

Harold was a kind, gentle and friendly man who would give anyone a helping hand at any time. He was loved by family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Steve Altheide, pastor of the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "Amazing Grace" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Pallbearers will be Jeff Hill, Brad Hill, Josh Hill, Hal Matern, Darren Neill and Gary Kimbrell. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2012 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri between the hour of 6-8:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Missouri. Military rites will be conducted by the Scotland County VFW Post #4958.
