Gwenda Roene (Bergman) Jackson, 85 of LaPlata, Missouri, formerly of Lancaster, Missouri, passed away at the LaPlata Nursing Home in LaPlata, Missouri on Monday, January, 26, 2026.

The daughter of Harold Earl and Thelma Eudora (Forbes) Bergman, she was born on October 23, 1940 in Lancaster, Missouri. She was a graduate of Queen City High School in Queen City, Missouri. On November 27,1963 in Lancaster, Missouri by Reverend Jim Ingersoll, she was united in marriage to Charles Dale Jackson and to this union two children were born, Tammy and Tina.

Gwenda is survived by her daughters, Tammy Steele of Lancaster, Missouri and Tina Dudley and husband, Robert of Fulton, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brianna Steele of Lancaster, Missouri, Trenton Steele and significant other, Amy of Lancaster, Missouri, Dustin Salter and wife, Kelsay of Fulton, Missouri and Allyson Dudley of Columbia, Missouri; 8 great grandchildren, Jace Steele, Piper Kirfman, Willow Kirfman, Jaxson Steele, Elana Steele, Alexis Chaney, Kinsleigh Chaney and Jaysn Chaney; two brothers, Gene Bergman of Queen City and Larry Bergman and wife, Tami of Boonville, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Rose Bergman of Shorewood, Illinois; nieces and nephews, other family members and many good friends.

Gwenda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles Jackson; one son-in-law, Mark Steele; two brothers, James Bergman and Kenny Bergman and two sisters, Linda Lee in infancy and Geneva Yearns.

Gwenda was a member of the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri. She worked at the Schuyler County Nursing Home for over 25 years in the kitchen as a cook aide.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Jim Bergman officiating. Music will be special selections of "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden." Pallbearers will be Jeff Bergman, Danny Bergman, Trenton Steele, Dustin Salter, Stanley Brown Jr., Gary Yearns and Dale Yearns. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026 between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for LaPlata Nursing Home Activities Department. Burial will be in the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, Missouri.
