George Nolan, 77 of Kirksville, Missouri passed away at his home in Kirksville, Missouri on Saturday, October 26, 2013.
The son of Howard Chester and Vina Iva Bell (Perkins) Nolan, he was born on March 1, 1936 in Cuba, Illinois. George was united in marriage to Pauline Walker and to this union 4 children were born, Chester, Chuck, Charlotte and Judy. George was later united in marriage to Carol Jean Ferdig on October 28, 1967 in Lancaster, Missouri and to this union 5 children were born, Robert (Bobby), Melvin, Patty, Becky and Vina.
George is survived by his children, Melvin Earl Nolan and wife, Michelle of Beaumont, Texas, Patty Chuites Yardley and husband, J. R. of Queen City, Missouri, Becky Nolan and fiancé, William Pennington of Kirksville, Missouri and Vina Norris and husband, Dustin of Chariton, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; siblings, Helen Louise Lorge and husband, Don of Loupoint, Illinois, Earl James Nolan and wife, Judy of East Moline, Illinois, Howard Junior Nolan of Moline, Illinois, Carolen Lee Crider and husband, Ernie of Rock Island, Illinois, Edna Fae Sheldon of Co Valley, Illinois, Treca Ann Kinn of Moline, Illinois; nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
George is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol Jean on April 11, 2011; 1 son, Robert (Bobby) Leon Nolan; 1 granddaughter, Crystal Marie Nolan; 2 son-in-laws, Jerry Chuites and Kelly Fincher; siblings, Charlotte May Nolan, Clarence Ray Nolan, Carol June Nolan, Robert Lee Nolan, Viola May Nolan, Joseph Allen Nolan and one in infancy.

Memorial services will be held on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, pastor of that church officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "Daddy's Hands", "Holes In The Floor of Heaven", and Jack Yardley, guitar soloist, singing "Green, Green Grass of Home". Memorials have been established for the family for funeral expenses. Burial will be in the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
