Floyd Wayne King, 53, of Downing, Missouri died on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida.
The son of Ronald Raymond and Mona Vee (Smith) King, he was born on March 2, 1964 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a graduate of the Davis County High School in Bloomfield, Iowa with the class of 1982.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Laine King and wife, Linda of Bloomfield, Iowa, Lorrie Jackson and husband, Randy of Springhill, Florida, Kelly King of Downing, Missouri and Missy Bennett and husband, Jeff of Downing, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Ryan King and wife, Melissa of Des Moines, Iowa, Lacy Abraham and husband, Jordan of Ankeny, Iowa, Ross King and wife, Kristen of Bloomfield, Iowa, Justin Jackson and wife, Celeste of Springhill, Florida, Erika King of Fairfield, Iowa, Aaron King and wife, Ashten of Richland, Iowa, Tabitha Bennett of Downing, Missouri, Amber Mitzelfelt and husband, Ian of Downing, Missouri, Jessica and Shelby Bennett of Downing, Missouri; great nieces and nephews, Deandre, Kianna, Aaliyah and Xavier Jackson of Springhill, Florida, Peytann and Brayden King of Des Moines, Iowa, Mora and Nolan Abraham of Ankeny, Iowa, Marsean Vinson of Fairfield, Iowa, Bentley and Graysen King of Richland, Iowa, Hailey and Ares Aguero of Downing, Missouri; uncles and aunts, cousins and many friends.
Wayne is preceded in death by his father, Ronald R. King; his mother, Mona Vee King; grandparents, Floyd R. King, Lois L. King, Charley W. Smith and Lillie V. Smith.
Wayne was a member of the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri where he was a volunteer for the Youth Group and enjoyed Bible Study. He donated many pints of blood to the Red Cross. He loved kids, as he was a big kid at heart. He will always be remembered as "The Funky Unkie"
He worked 20 years for Bloomfield Tire in Bloomfield, Iowa and also worked at ATSU in Kirksville, Missouri for 7 years. He always had the "scoop" on the news or life in general. He loved his nieces and nephews dearly and loved to fish and watch sports.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Downing Christian Church in Downing, Missouri with Larry Smith, Pastor of the Downing Christian Church officiating. Betty Anderson will be the organist. Special CD selections will be "The Old Rugged Cross", "The Dance" and "Dust In The Wind". Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Downing Christian Church on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund. Private burial will be at a later date in the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, Missouri as the body has been cremated.
