Everett Elmer Gillespie
February 1, 1939 – February 10, 2015

Everett Elmer Gillespie, 76 of Glenwood, Missouri passed away at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri on Tuesday, February 10, 2015.

The son of Alonzo Ellisworth and Edith Ellen (Shugart) Gillespie, he was born on February 1, 1939 in Texas County, Missouri. He was a graduate of the Hurdland High School in Hurdland, Missouri. On September 20, 1956, he was united in marriage to Sharon Wise and on May 23, 1963, he was united in marriage to Anna Marie Hill.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Marie Gillespie of Glenwood, Missouri; children, Duane Snyder and wife, Pamela of Frankfort, Illinois, Karan Farrell and husband, Vic of Glenwood, Missouri, Ellen Jarvis and husband, Terry of Jefferson City, Missouri; 8 grandchildren, Jayson Meloche, Justin Flaspohler, Scott Jarvis, Mark Jarvis, Haley Snyder, Kelsey Snyder, Bria Snyder and Laura Jarvis; 6 great grandchildren, Alex Meloche, Melissa Meloche, Zoe Flaspohler, Noah Flaspohler, Tyler Jarvis and Vada Jarvis; several nieces and nephews; other family members and numerous good friends.

Everett is preceded in death by his parents; one son in infancy, Jamie Atwood; 2 brothers, Junior and LeRoy Gillespie and 1 sister, Darlene Gillespie.

Everett was a member of the Glenwood Christian Church in Glenwood, Missouri.

Everett was a truck driver for a number of years, then employed for ten years with the Missouri Department of Transportation in Lancaster, Missouri, owned and operated the Lancaster Sporting Good Store and the Tackle Box in Glenwood, Missouri and was an active enthusiast of hunting, fishing and coin collecting.

Everett enjoyed his family and they were dearest to his heart.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2015 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri at 2:00 p.m. with Billy Wallace, Pastor of the Lancaster Christian Church assisted by Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith. Music will be special recordings of "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Why Me" and "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" and "You'll Be There" will be sung by Cole Tippett. Pallbearers will be Jayson Meloche, Justin Flaspohler, Scott Jarvis, Mark Jarvis, Alex Meloche, Roger Gillespie, Rex Gillespie and Dwayne Gillespie. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the new Glenwood Community Hall or Schuyler County Nutrition Site. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery in Glenwood, Missouri.
