Erma Irene (Engle) Scurlock
March 30, 1922 – November 22, 2015
Erma Irene (Engle) Scurlock, 93 of Memphis, Missouri, formerly of Glenwood, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri where she had been a resident.
The daughter of Moses David and Anna Liza (Baker) Engle, she was born on March 30, 1922 in Kidder, Daviess County, Missouri. On April 30, 1945 in Memphis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to George Lemoine Scurlock.
Survivors include her sister, Annabelle Alexander of Downing, Missouri; many nieces and nephews; other family members and many good friends.
Erma is preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, James Edward Newland; her husband, on February 1, 1996 and four brothers, Charles Engle, James Engle, Woodrow Engle and Robert Engle in infancy.
Erma was a member of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri where she was an active member as long as her health permitted.
Erma was a member of the Glenwood Garden Club, Rebekah's, lifetime member of the Schuyler County Historical Society and Royal Neighbors. She retired from Hollister's Incorporated in Kirksville, Missouri and was also a member of the U.A.W. at Hollister's.
Erma enjoyed the family gatherings with all the family during the holidays. She especially enjoyed the family reunions held at the Glenwood Community Center in Glenwood, Missouri.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Rachael Holton, keyboard and Junior Arnold and Kay Engle singing "Amazing Grace" and "In The Garden" will provide music. Pallbearers will be Darrel Engle, Eddie Engle, James Alexander, Dennis Engle, Steve Engle and Dwight Tietsort. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Engle, Larry Engle, Clarence Graham and John Kane. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 27, 2015 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site, New Community Hall in Glenwood, Missouri or to the Red Cloud Indian School in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.
