Elizabeth (Betty) Loe Slaughter

Elizabeth (Betty) Loe Slaughter, 66 of Kirksville, Missouri passed away at the Kirksville Manor Care Center in Kirksville, Missouri on Saturday, March 12, 2016.
The daughter of Oren V. and Dorothy (Gosser) Slaughter, she was born on April 2, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri. She was a graduate of the Queen City High School in Queen City, Missouri with the class of 1967. In the early 1970's, she earned her LPN degree in Kirksville, Missouri and later moved to Davenport, Iowa and then moved to Centerville, Iowa and formed and directed Kids World, which is still in existence. She also was a graduate of Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri where she received her Bachelor of Science degree and later worked for Preferred Family as a Substance Abuse Counselor for a number of years.
Survivors include her sister and children, Connie Fay Slaughter-Hawkins of Queen City, Missouri who still resides on the family farm as a third generation owner, Oren Slaughter Hawkins and wife, Dawn and their daughter, Isabelle Fay of Webster Grove, Missouri, Preston Slaughter Hawkins of Des Moines, Iowa, Quincy Slaughter Hawkins of Kirksville, Missouri; one brother-in-law and children, Bert Holloway of Joplin, Missouri, Sandy Dixon and husband, Brent of Rolla, Missouri, Wayne Holloway and wife, Debbie of Killeen, Texas, Lloyd Holloway and wife, Jutta of Joplin, Missouri and Debbie Stroud and husband, Robert of Battlefield, Missouri; numerous great nieces and nephews; several cousins; other family members including her "babies", Flash, Sadie and Gabby and numerous friends including, Sandy and Paul Poncy of Centerville, Iowa, Cherie Schnelle of Centerville, Iowa and Karen Lovingier of Kirksville, Missouri.
Her parents and one sister, Lola Jean (Jeanie) Holloway, precede Betty in death.
Betty attended, for a number of years, the Grace Community Church in Kirksville, Missouri.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Grace Community Church in Kirksville, Missouri with Bob Shaffer, Pastor of the Grace Community Church officiating. Music will be provided by pianist, Warren Gooch, soloist, her sister, Connie Slaughter-Hawkins and her nephew, Quincy Slaughter Hawkins playing a piano selection. Special selections will be "How Great Thou Art", "River Flows In You", "In The Garden" and "Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Him". Visitation will be held at the Grace Community Church on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the family for funeral expenses or to the Wyatt House in Columbia, Missouri.
