Edward Buckallew, 86 years of age died at his home in Lancaster, Missouri on Tuesday, July 23, 2013.

Survived by his wife, Mary of 65 years of marriage, daughter, Debi and husband, Michal Bock of Palmyra, Missouri; son, Dannie and wife, Tammy Buckallew, daughter, Melody Whitacre, son, Johnnie and wife, Becky Buckallew and son, Tim Buckallew all of Lancaster, Missouri; 29 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Glen Buckallew and wife, Edna of Kahoka, Missouri; 4 sisters, Waneva Haas of Unionville, Missouri, Eileen Anders and husband, Kenneth of Unionville, Missouri, Delphine Owens of Kansas City, Missouri and Phyllis Diveley and husband, Jerry of Unionville, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, William Edward and Mabel Harlan (Dixon) Buckallew; 2 sons, David and Denny Buckallew; 2 brothers, Gene and Raymond Buckallew ; 2 sisters, Nadine Anders and Lorene Davis and many aunts and uncles.

He was a carpenter by trade, working with many young men, helping them to learn this trade. He spent a few years farming and milking cows in this immediate area. In 1976, he and his wife, Mary moved to Lancaster, Missouri where he became involved in the Schuyler County Booster Club serving as President from 1985-1990, helping with many building projects and serving "hundreds and thousands" of tenderloins.

Eddie's life reflected his love for life, family and friends. He loved to refinish antique furniture, go fishing, working in the garden, playing cards (especially with his grandsons), singing and dancing the gig and of recently, cutting out quilt pieces. His desire of late was to share his faith of the Lord, Jesus Christ with family, friends and even strangers so they too, would meet him in heaven.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Reverend Daniel Bock and Dr. Nate Bock officiating. Guitarist, Dr. Nate Bock and vocalists, Daniel and Eliza Bock, will give musical selections. Pallbearers will be Dannie Buckallew, Michal Bock, Tim Buckallew, Andrew Whitacre, Johnnie Buckallew and Kyle Buckallew. Honorary pallbearers will be Thad Kirby, Jeremy Buckallew, Scott Buckallew, Gregory Buckallew, Matthew Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson, Trent Snowbarger, Justin Buckallew and Michael Whitacre. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri between the hours of 6-8:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Rose Cemetery or Hospice of Northeast Missouri. Burial will be in the Rose Cemetery in Graysville, Missouri with Leanna vanZandt officiating and soloist, Debi Bock. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normanfh.com.
