Obituary

Duane Dean Lyons, 60 of Richfield, Wisconsin passed away at the St. Luke's Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Saturday, January 10, 2015.

The son of Donnie Dean and Marilyn Joyce (Gordy) Lyons, he was born on December 21, 1954 in Davis County, Iowa. He was a graduate of the l972 graduating class of Schuyler County High School in Lancaster, Missouri. On June 19, 1976 he was united in marriage to Sheila Rae Kirkpatrick at the Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville, Missouri and to this union 6 children were born, Aleesha, Adam, twins daughters, Rachel and Suzanne, Jay and Daniel.

Duane is survived by his wife, Sheila Lyons of Richfield, Wisconsin; children, Aleesha Roter and husband, Tim of Richfield, Wisconsin, Adam Lyons and wife, Amanda of Downing, Missouri, Rachel Fite and husband, Chris of Odessa, Missouri, Suzanne Lyons of Massena, Iowa and Daniel Lyons of Downing, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Tami Lyons of Maywood, Missouri, Toni Mattson and husband, Rich of Marietta, Georgia, and 1 brother, Kevin Lyons and wife, Pam of Ogden, Iowa; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members.

Duane is preceded in death by his parents; Donnie and Marilyn Lyons; 1 son, Jay Dean Lyons and one sister, Cynthia Renee Lyons.

Duane was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church east of Lancaster, Missouri and later attended the Downing Baptist Church in Downing, Missouri.

Duane was a self-employed carpenter and farmer for a number of years.

Duane cherished the time he spent with his family and especially with the grandchildren. He also enjoyed deer hunting when his health permitted. He liked to design things and enjoyed "figuring" out the solutions to many situations. Duane always had a smile and a "throwback" laugh!

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Pastor Darrick Lyons, officiating. Pallbearers will be Kurtis Lyons, Darrick Lyons, Tim Roter, Chris Fite, Jason Bratton, Robby Bratton and Randy Venteicher. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral services from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Burial will be in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery, east of Lancaster, Missouri.
