Dorothy Madelene (Anderson) Werner, 87 of Lancaster, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.
The daughter of Loren Talmadge and Mary Opal (Followwill) Anderson, she was born on February 10, 1930 in rural Queen City, Missouri. Dorothy was a 1948 graduate of the Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri. She was united in marriage to Walter Franklin Werner in September 1952 in Queen City, Missouri and to this union one son, James was born.
Survivors include her son, James Werner and wife, Cathy of Lancaster, Missouri; two grandchildren, Leigh Werner and fiancée, Seth Gray of Lancaster, Missouri and Nathan Werner of West Des Moines, Iowa; other family members and many special friends.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Walter Franklin Werner on March 29, 1968.
Dorothy was a member of the Lancaster Baptist Church in Lancaster, Missouri. She was employed in June 1968 with Hollister Incorporated in Kirksville, Missouri from which she retired in August 1995 with this company. She was a member of the UAW Local 710.
Dorothy enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, crossword puzzles, cooking, genealogy research and especially spending time with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Music will be special CD selections of "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art". Pallbearers will be Charles Neagle, Jim Eggers, Joe Sebolt, David McGoldrick, Fred Lanham and Charles Tallman. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Beeler, Jeremy Lefler and Lester Clark. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. Memorials have been established for the Arni Memorial Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri.
