Donald Eugene Martin
October 6, 1920 – November 8, 2013

Donald Eugene Martin, 93 of Queen City, Missouri formerly of Livonia, Missouri passed away on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Schuyler County Nursing Home in Queen City, Missouri where he had been a resident since December 2011.

The son of Charlie and Ida (Cossel) Martin, Donald was born on October 6, 1920 in Unionville, Missouri. He was a graduate of the Livonia High School in Livonia, Missouri. On June 22, 1941 he was united in marriage to Helen Pauline Knight and to this union 2 daughters were born, Donna and Joey.

Don is survived by his daughter, Donna Cooley and husband, Connie of Greentop, Missouri; 5 grandchildren, Julie Riley and significant other, Clifford Halley of Novinger, Missouri, Sue Scheurer and husband, Roy of Kirksville, Missouri, Kevin Cooley and wife, Kelly of Glenwood, Missouri, Cheryl Dangerfield and husband, Charlie of Blue Springs, Missouri and Kelly Cooley and wife, Schelle of Memphis, Missouri; 15 great grandchildren; 2 step great grandchildren; 16 great great grandchildren; 1 step great great grandchild; 2 great great great grandchildren; other family members and many good friends.

Don is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen on July 8, 1992; daughter, Joey Lynn Martin Hunter on February 7, 2009; 1 great granddaughter, Brandy Cooley on April 16, 2005; 1 brother, Leslie Martin and 1 sister, Nellie Mathews.

Don was a member of the Omaha Baptist Church and was an active member as long as his health permitted. He was a grain and livestock farmer in the Livonia, Missouri area most of his life. He loved spending time with his family and church and also loved fishing, hunting and trapping.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. John's Cemetery north of Livonia, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith of Lancaster, Missouri, officiating. Pallbearers will be his grandsons. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site or OATS. Online condolences may be expressed to the family by logging on to normafh.com.
