Dennis William Kearse, 64 of rural Queen City, Missouri passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.
The son of Clarence William and Sarah Colleen (Van Horn) Kearse, he was born on December 4, 1949 in Kirksville, Missouri. He was a graduate of the Lancaster High School with the class of 1968 in Lancaster, Missouri. Dennis attended Kansas City Barber College; he served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years and was honorably discharged; he farmed for 5 years and then attended Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, Iowa where he graduated as a Registered Nurse. He worked at area hospitals, where he specialized in ER and ICU. He also was a flight nurse in Yuma, Arizona. In later years he returned to Schuyler County, Missouri where he owned and operated Nurses, Unlimited. Recently, Dennis was employed as a nurse at the Schuyler County Care Center in Queen City, Missouri.
Survivors include his mother, Sally Kearse of Lancaster, Missouri; 4 sisters, Beverly Colleen Smyser and husband, Payton Murl (Sonny) of Lancaster, Missouri, Jeanie McLain and husband, Dan of Unionville, Missouri, Mary Sue Tucker and husband, Tim of Queen City, Missouri and Janet Nichols of Austin, Texas; 2 brothers, Ronnie Kearse and wife, Ann of Marshalltown, Iowa and Bill Kearse of Queen City, Missouri; 1 aunt, Violet Bailey of Dallas, Texas; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews; cousins; other family members; his dog, Stanley and many good friends.
Dennis is preceded in death by his father, Clarence William Kearse on February 27, 2008.
Dennis was a member of the Schuyler County Church of Faith in Lancaster, Missouri.
His friendly personality left lasting impressions and will be remembered. He was very well liked by many!

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 3 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri with Sonny Smyser, Pastor of the Schuyler County Church of Faith officiating. Special CD selections will be "In The Garden" and "The Old Rugged Cross". Pallbearers will be David Pulliam, Richard Bowling, Phil Beeler, Dale Vandike, Wayne McGoldrick and David McGoldrick. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Memorials have been established for the family. Burial will be in the Arni Cemetery in Lancaster, Missouri. Military rites will be conducted by the Scotland County VFW, Post 4958.
